Juvenile acne is one of the most common skin conditions during adolescence and early adulthood. The Acnerebal Protocol was created to support those dealing with persistent imperfections through a consistent, non-aggressive approach.
What is juvenile acne?
Acne is caused by blocked hair follicles due to excessive sebum production and the buildup of dead skin cells. These conditions encourage the proliferation of Cutibacterium acnes, which contributes to inflammation and the appearance of lesions.
During puberty, androgen hormones increase, stimulating the sebaceous glands and making the skin more prone to breakouts.
In addition to visible lesions, acne has a real impact on self-esteem and emotional well-being, especially during adolescence. This is one of the reasons it is worth addressing it with a method rather than improvised attempts. And when acne is inflammatory or nodulocystic, a dermatologist is the point of reference: a cosmetic protocol supports, but does not replace, medical treatment.
The Acnerebal Protocol
It is designed for persistent acne between the ages of 18 and 30. There are four objectives: regulate sebum production, target active imperfections, prevent post-inflammatory marks, and improve skin texture.

Morning routine
- Cleansing Active Mousse: cleanser with salicylic acid and tea tree oil for deep cleansing.
- Acqua Termale Multi Vit: enriched with vitamins to soothe and rebalance.
- Acnerebal Serum: sebum-regulating serum with Zincidone and niacinamide to reduce the appearance of pores and even out the complexion.
- Acnerebal Cream: lightweight cream with azeloglycine that mattifies and hydrates without weighing the skin down.
- Spot Defence 50 SPF: sun protection is essential for preventing post-inflammatory marks.
Evening
Repeat the first four steps, leaving out sun protection.
Twice a week
Mandelic Enzimatic Soft Peel, a gentle exfoliant with mandelic acid that promotes cell renewal without irritating the skin.
The active ingredients in the protocol
Salicylic acid
It is a fat-soluble beta hydroxy acid: it penetrates sebum and acts inside the pore with a comedolytic effect. It is among the most extensively studied active ingredients for blemish-prone skin.

Niacinamide and thermal water
Niacinamide has sebum-regulating and soothing properties and supports the skin barrier. Its synergy with salicylic acid is one of the best-documented combinations for acne-prone skin.

Zincidone
A complex of zinc and L-pyrrolidone carboxylic acid: the former has a sebum-regulating action, while the latter supports the skin barrier.

Sun protection
It is the step most often skipped by people with blemish-prone skin, out of concern that it will feel heavy. In reality, it is crucial: without photoprotection, every inflammatory lesion is much more likely to leave a dark mark that can then take months to fade.

What to expect
A protocol like this requires consistency. The first improvements in texture and the appearance of pores are generally seen after four to six weeks; post-inflammatory marks take longer to improve.
If you are over thirty and your imperfections appeared in adulthood, the picture is different: you can find the specific approach in the article on adult acne. For men's skin, which has different needs due to its thickness and shaving, there is a dedicated guide.
