L'carrot oil is obtained by macerating the roots of Daucus carota. It belongs to the family of antioxidant vegetable oils and is rich in beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, along with other carotenoids and vitamin E.
On the skin, it counteracts free radicals and supports cellular renewal. The most noticeable effect, however, concerns radiance: it gives the complexion a warmer, more even appearance, which is why it is included in after-sun formulas and products for dull skin. It also maintains hydration without clogging pores.
Apply it to still-damp skin in the evening or after sun exposure, when the skin needs support during recovery. It is one of the oils whose effects are noticeable right away: the complexion changes from the first few applications, even before the antioxidant component takes effect.
A useful clarification, because this oil is often misunderstood: carrot oil is not a sunscreen. Its place is after sun exposure, where it supports the skin's comfort and appearance, alongside — not instead of — protection.
