L'Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5, commercially known as Eyeseryl®, is a biomimetic peptide made up of four amino acids, developed specifically for the eye area.
It acts as an ACE inhibitor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme), the enzyme involved in regulating fluid in tissues. By promoting drainage and limiting fluid accumulation in the superficial layers, it helps reduce the puffy appearance of the eye contour. It also acts on protein glycation, resulting in more elastic skin around the eyes.
It is the active ingredient of choice for bags, that is, swelling caused by fluid retention, and vascular dark circles. Pigmented dark circles, on the other hand, require brightening active ingredients, while for those caused by the shape of the eye socket, the cosmetic effect is limited. Apply morning and evening by gently tapping with the pad of the ring finger, before face cream.
It works best combined with caffeine, which acts on the capillaries with a rapid effect, while the peptide works on drainage over the course of several weeks. These are two different mechanisms targeting the same problem, making this the most effective combination for the eye area. The available efficacy data come from tests conducted by the ingredient manufacturer.
