L'HyaCare® Filler CL, in INCI Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, is hyaluronic acid crosslinked: instead of remaining free, the chains are linked together to form a three-dimensional structure. It is the same idea behind dermatological gels, applied to a cosmetic active ingredient used on the surface.
Crosslinking changes the molecule's behavior. A free chain holds water and releases it quickly; a crosslinked network holds more of it and releases it gradually, like a tank that empties slowly. The result is hydration that lasts throughout the day and a more pronounced plumping effect on superficial lines, because the structure has a volume of its own that free chains do not.
It works on superficial wrinkles and loss of firmness, and is applied morning and evening to still-damp skin. It is intended for use alongside non-crosslinked forms: low-molecular-weight chains deliver hydration to the upper layers, while the crosspolymer builds the reservoir on the surface. Together they address two different time frames of the same need, providing the most complete response to dehydration.
It is the form of hyaluronic acid that is more expensive and technically more complex to produce, and its presence in an INCI says something about the formula: it means that the simplest available form of hyaluronic acid was not used alone, but that different forms were combined to address more mechanisms.
