Mallow flower and leaf

L'mallow flower and leaf extract is obtained from the two aerial parts of the Malva sylvestris plant, harvested together. It belongs to the family of soothing botanicals and differs from single-leaf extract: the plant is the same, but the composition is not.

The mucilages — polysaccharides that form a gel when they come into contact with water — are found mainly in the leaf and are the reason for the enveloping sensation that mallow leaves on the skin. The flower additionally contains anthocyanins, the purple pigments that give it its color, with an antioxidant component that the leaf alone does not have.

In LeLang formulas, it appears in the anti-aging face mask, where the leave-on time allows the mucilage film to work and the skin remains in contact with the active ingredient for twenty minutes. It is suitable for skin that feels tight and reacts easily.

Mallow's action is surface-level and reversible: the comfort lasts as long as the film remains on the skin and the product is used regularly. If the redness is persistent and accompanied by other signs, the condition is no longer cosmetic and should be assessed by a dermatologist.
