Grape leaves

L'grape leaf extract is obtained from the leaves of Vitis vinifera, not from the fruit or seeds. It belongs to the family of plant polyphenols, and the three parts of the plant provide three distinct raw materials: oil from the grape seeds, extract from the fruit, and this one from the leaves.

The leaf of the red grapevine is particularly rich in anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins, the pigments that turn it red in autumn. They are the polyphenolic fraction traditionally associated with the tone of capillary walls and the protection of supporting fibers from oxidation: the same reason red grape leaves have been used for centuries in European herbal medicine.

In LeLang formulas, it appears in the Perlage cream, eye contour cream, and detox cleanser, where it accompanies the other grapevine derivatives. It is recommended for skin that reddens easily and for the eye contour area, where the thin skin allows the microcirculation to show through. Use morning and evening, within the product in which it is formulated.

For a brand born among the vineyards of the Langhe, the leaf is the most distinctive part of the area: the part that remains on the plant after the harvest and that viticulture has traditionally not used. A cosmetic product improves the appearance of the skin: if the capillaries remain persistently visible, a dermatologist is still the right point of reference.

In the glossary, you will find more information about properties of red grapevine in cosmetics.
