It Munapsys™ is a biomimetic six-amino-acid peptide, listed in the INCI as Acetyl Hexapeptide-1. It belongs to the family of neuromodulating peptides: active ingredients that work on communication between nerve endings and skin cells, the field of neurocosmetics.
It has a dual mechanism, and that is what makes it interesting. On the one hand, it reduces the intensity of facial muscle contractions, diminishing the movement that etches expression lines. On the other, it supports fibroblasts in producing type I collagen, the protein that gives the dermis its structure. It therefore acts on the two causes that generate a wrinkle—the movement that traces it and the sagging that sets it—rather than just one.
It is recommended for dynamic wrinkles —glabellar, forehead, and nasolabial lines—and loss of definition along the facial contours. Use it morning and evening before applying moisturizer. The first changes can be observed after about two weeks of consistent use, a short time for an active ingredient in this category.
The effect on muscle contraction is gradual and reversible: it lasts as long as the product is used consistently and does not alter facial expressiveness.
