Tephrosia seed oil

L'Tephrosia purpurea seed oil is obtained by pressing the seeds of the Indian legume. It belongs to the family of neurocosmetic actives and is the oil-based counterpart to the extract: the same plant, the same part, but a fat-soluble rather than water-soluble fraction.

The distinction is not merely formal. An anhydrous formula such as an oil-based scrub cannot accommodate a water-based extract: for the active to be incorporated, it needs to be in oil form. This is why the body line uses the extract in the cream and shower gel, and the seed oil in the scrub and massage oil.

The goal remains the same: to act on the cortisol produced by the skin during periods of prolonged stress, and support the beta-endorphins associated with the feeling of comfort. In the scrub, this complements the exfoliating motion, which becomes the moment when the treatment begins.

The efficacy data circulating about this active come from the manufacturer's tests, not from independent studies, and should be understood as an indication of scale. A cosmetic improves the appearance of the skin and the user's comfort; it does not treat dermatological conditions or replace stress management.

In the glossary, you will find an in-depth look at how Tephrosia purpurea works in neurocosmetics.
