Rosemary

L'rosemary essential oil is obtained by distillation from the leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis, the shrub of the Mediterranean maquis. It belongs to the family of essential oils and is among the most distinctive of the European herbal tradition.

The main components are cineole, camphor, and alpha-pinene, which provide the intense aromatic note and the toning sensation on the skin. The plant is also known forrosmarinic acid, one of the most studied plant antioxidants , which gave the molecule its name because it was first isolated here.

It is used in body treatments and massage oils, for tired legs and in purifying formulas, where the aromatic component is part of the result. As an essential oil, it is used at low concentrations and always diluted in the formula.

It is one of the essential oils with the most recognizable olfactory presence, and in a body treatment this matters: the aromatic perception accompanies the gesture and makes it a recognizable moment of the day. The scent of rosemary is that of the Mediterranean maquis, and it is part of the identity of the products that contain it.
